Pai is a leading starin Hong Kong action films. Her moods change as quickly as a cat's - she canerupt in passion in one minute, and turn icy cold in the next. Lau'sonly daughter, Pai was specially trained by her father in martial arts from ayoung age. In the original Virtua Fighter, however, while Lau obsessivelystrove on with his training, Pai's mother worked so hard to support the familythat she died of overwork. Her death devastated Pai and she blamed it on Lau;she swore that one day she would beat him. Two years later, she was a success inthe movie industry. After failing to defeather father several times, Pai eventually learns that Lau has become ill andseeks to find a successor to his school of martial arts. Pai's goal to avengeher mother shifts and she becomes determined to defeat her father in order togain his acknowledgment as a worthy successor and his daughter.

Don't make any of those broski 'she's my cherry pie' jokes... I don't think a classy gal likePai would appreciate such lame-ass jokes. A straight-edge serious martial artist like Miss Chan would have those broski's for breakfast... they'd get K.O'd in seconds by those fast feet. Pai is the real deal; she's one of the original ass-kicking chicks to ever appear in a 3D fighting game. Her original appearancewas undeniably 'somewhat' inspired by the iconic Chun-Li, but Pai's proportions, animations, and appearance made her a more 'human-like' female FG character. Pai's based 'serious in her martial training' attitude is respectible. A girl this serious about martial arts, training all her life, again... would kickyour ass in a real fight, bro. She ain't kiddin' around. She knows Kung-Fu. Anyhow, Pai's artistically balanced Chinese fighting style, pretty outfits, and fluid movements defined her design from from sequel tosequel. Visually, Pai is easily one of the best-dressed Virtua Fighter characters, by far. I also like the fact that in the first few games, younger Pai dressed pretty formal and was a 'reserved' girl... but in the later installments, she started bringing the sexy with some of those outfits! This is solid character evolution = 9.5/10. Last but not least, and perhapsmost importantly, Pai is a dynamic / very fun character touse. | Fighting Style / Moveset | Personality / Charisma | Outfit(s) / Appearance | Effectiveness in series | OverallScore |
